The Australian Dance Theatre was established in 1965 by Elizabeth Cameron Dalman OAM wife of celebrated Adelaide Photographer, Jan Dalman.
In the early 1970s Leonid Olijnyk and other photographers were invited to photograph the dancers as they rehearsed in a secluded garden in the Adelaide Hills. The resulting exciting images below were captured on film by Leonid and his Hasselblad camera and are an historic treasure today. They are moments in time expertly filmed by our master photographer for the joy of generations to come.
For over 45 years the negatives have been stored in the Photographic Art Gallery Archives and Leonid has spent many hours restoring each amazing picture. He has printed them on archival paper in crisp black and white and he is thrilled to share them with you especially during the SALA Festival 2017.
The amazing fine art photographs are on display and for sale together with many brilliant works of photographic fine art.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy the relaxed and informal atmosphere of Leonid's inspiring gallery in Marino.
Our photographic studio offers individual portraiture in a range of sizes. All images are printed by Leonid using archival materials and laminated or protection coated. Contact us today to make an appointment for your portrait photography in our Studio - Gallery!
