Australian Landscape Photography
Leonid and his Hasselblad Camera, 150 Planar Lens, Gitzzo Tripod (heavy!!) strives to capture beauty, colour and form in nature.
Leonid's advice; "The biggest difficulty photographers find is SEEING THE PICTURE. I advise, that what first 'grabs' you in a scene that inspires you, is what you must strive to capture with your camera - no more!! no less!!"
When Leonid is so inspired, he plans the picture. First of all he chooses the essence of the picture that has inspired him - no more - no less. Then he carefully considers the ideal time of day to create the perfect picture. He will consider the time of day to ensure the light, shade and climate is right. Favourable light is of the greatest importance - sunlight, shade, overcast and twilight.
The photograph of 'The Picnic Tree' was a great test of patience, and Leonid watched and waited for the clouds to part and for rays of sunlight to reveal the grandeur of the great gum tree. This image was captured on a picnic with the family near the Lindsay Park Estate, Barossa Valley South Australia. Leonid has so much to share with you - visit his wonderful gallery in Marino and be inspired!
